I’m sharing my original series of caricature portraits of all 18 official world chess champions, from Steinitz to Gukesh Dommaraju.
The first 13 were drawn back in 1987 using markers on A3 paper, and the remaining 5 were digitally created after Gukesh Dommaraju became the youngest world champion in 2024.
The series captures the visual evolution of champions throughout chess history — from classic to modern times.
