computers are not allowed in iccf.  i believe the comparison list indicates that some of those people are cheating.  for example, the 1300 rated player would not be able to accomplish what you have stated; yet he is 10th in the country.

Computers ARE allowed on ICCF.

They are not allowed just in USCF CC Tournaments.

thanks for clearing that up for me.

I played centaur chess for the first time very recently when I played 7 games with Black against 5 different strong  players.  There is more to Centaur Chess than meets the eye.  My opponents all had chess engines as did I.

I used the free stockfish which was also new to me. My score was 5 wins and 2 draws.  [very rare to obtain such a score with Black in Centaur Chess.][I also won an 8th game not officially part of this match and against a 6th player]  I did not just let stockfish play my games. I was constantly directing stockfish what lines to explore. You have to have the chess experience and knowledge to do this.

What is interesting is when you compare USCF and ICCF cc ratings.  There are some USCF CC players whose ratings are a lot higher than ICCF cc ratings, suggesting that they are using engines in their USCF cc games.

I may be incorrect but I think at least at the USCF Championship level they are now allowing use of computers.

A player may have an old 1300 rating and then start correspondence chess and learn a lot and thus the 1300 rating is not relevant at all.

In my case I met the requirements for USCF master some 40 years ago but then switched to entirely correspondence chess and became much stronger than just USCF master.  So an old abandoned USCF rating is not usually indictitive of a players current strength.

The USCF Absolute is the only event where computers are allowed.

Yes, definitely. You need different skills that an ordinary chess player. You need to be computer expert, have quick analytical thinking. Engines are already so strong, that human chess player input can be only miniscule in 90/30 matches. On contrary, when you are not experienced in freestyle chess and low to mid level player (everything under 2500), you most of the time do decisions which decrease your freestyle rating performance.

No.

Hello.

Chess.com policy requires that advanced chess games can only be played unrated and with the consent of both players.

I'm looking for casual opponents who want to play unrated daily matches with the aid of engines (as well as books/videos/tablebases etc).

Please reply here or send me a message and we can start some games, and in time maybe an active group.

Thanks.
