Checkmate & Timeout??

If I could attach an image here, I would show you. It registered the cm # in the game notation. I took a screenshot.

A completed move on the client does not mean the server received it before your time was out on the official server clock. That is the clock that ultimately matters.
The site allows a certain amount of lag, but if the time taken for the move, after lag forgiveness was more than was in the server clock, you lose on time if your opponent had sufficient mating material.

Thanks for the explanation. Would have liked the win to count but in the end wtf does it matter I am sub 300 bullet chess rabble.
Don't worry, it happens more commonly than you think. It also happened against me last year. A checkmating move, which was not received on the other end, caused me to lose to a 740 rated player. It was a bad idea for me to play in an area with a poor connection.
I'm pretty certain the other player was jumping with joy when he won his then-1800+ player.
