THERE ALWAYS SEEMS ON MOST CHESS ONLINE SITE A GROUP OF GATHERINGS WANTING CERTAIN PARTS OF OUR HISTORICAL GAME OF THOUSANDS OF YEARS CHANGING, THERE WANTS RANGE FROM: 1.) DO Away With Stalemate?? 2.) No more En'passant Pawn Captures?? and 3.) No more Perpetual Checks?? SADLY THESE SUGGESTIONS WILL NEVER BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, OUR ROYAL GAME MUST ALWAYS REMAIN UNTARNISHED AND ANY ONLINE CHESS SITE WILL NEVER CONSIDER SUCH RIDICULOUS SUGGESTIONS TGEY WOULD RISK LOSING OVER HALF THERE MEMBERS!!? My Own suggestion to such ridiculous idea's is maybe the individuals should take up a less strenuous games such as Checkers, Domino's, or Snakes & Ladders and Leave our Royal game to its Beauty, History & Integrity.

Chess rules have changed several times.
A queen was a weak piece that could only move 1 square.
A bishop was a weak piece that could only move 2 squares.
A pawn could only move 1 square.
Castling was introduced when the queen became more powerful.
En passant was introduced when the pawn could move 2 squares.
Stalemate has been a win, a loss, and a draw.
The 50 moves/75 moves rule has changed several times, with and without exceptions.
Introduction of the clock has created new rules several times.
Mandatory notation has changed several times.
Definition of dead position is different in the USA from the rest of the world.
There have been attempts for stalemate = win and for no castling chess.

The most important change IMHO would be to make repetition of a position a loss.

If anyone wants to play chess with different rules they are free to do that. In fact there are lots of people playing variants on chess.com. For example on the custom game menu you can choose a different stalemate rule or get rid of en passant.

Been there, done that.

Burmese chess. You can array your army any way you want behind the infantry.

That's a chess variant that doesn't seem quite stable to play.
