Chessable and chess position trainer are tne two best ones.
Chess Apps for managing Opening Repertoire

Chessable and chess position trainer are tne two best ones.
But can I edit/create opening move trees? Some time ago I tried it for web (bought some opening repertoire) and could only read, no editing, no export to PGN for editing. Basically cannot have my own adjustments to provided moves.
Also those aren't iPhone/Android apps if I'm not mistaken?

I recently saw this about using Lichess for opening repertoire. Don't know anything about it though...

I was looking for this tool as well and could not find something I was looking for : a text editor with chessboard picture easy insertion. I ended writing it, it is available for free here : mychessnotebook.com hope it will be useful !

Hi,
I created a web application to help build and memorize chess repertoires.
It is completely free and you can use it from any device.
The app is still in development so everything is far from perfect, but I still wanted to share it because it can be useful to you as the key features (build & train) are functional.
I am interested in having feedback to continue in the right direction.
I am not a company and I am alone in managing this project, I apologize in advance for any problem you may encounter while using it, I will try to do my best.
Feel free to try here https://chess-repertoire-companion.com
Any kind of help around this project would be greatly appreciated! 😉
Cheers

Hi Und3,
Quick feedback: I was interested in your app, but it seems that there is no way to import a repertoire as a PGN file. As I already have my repertoire as a PGN file, it is a pain to re-build it from scratch using your interface... In my opinion it is an important feature.
Cheers
Hey Und3
I agree with VictoryRose. I would be very interested in using it, if there was the possibility to import PGN files.

By the way, it is the first app I found in which you can really train opening from scratch, by playing a game against a random move bot, that is really a great feature!

Hi guys,
Thanks for your feedbacks about Chess Repertoire Companion. I'm currently working on the "import from PGN" feature and it should be released soon.
Bookup.com – Professional Chess Openings Software
Exactly what you're asking for. Available for computer and phone (android/iPhone/iPad). Express version is like $65, professional version is pricey. Can train on it, import PGN e.c.t. Sounds like the simplest thing in the world (speaks me with no coding experience) but this is the only app that works in like a decade. I used to have "chess position trainer" but I don't think it works anymore. You can read all about the guy who developed and maintains this (Mike Leahy) on his website.

Thanks for your input. CRC is free and now incorporates PGN import so I am satisfied with it:

Could try chessbooks (with or without the s, forgot) the app but it does have a limit.
It shows the likely move at certain rating ranges, there's like a limit to a certain amount of move/variations you can create but I have yet to hit its limit and you can import and export it.

that's a really nice and usefull website
thanks and waiting for a phone version if it's possible

There is no mobile app, however using the platform from a phone browser works perfectly fine
as i said "I'll be waiting for it"
and another thing...there is an application in app store called "Chessbook" i downloaded it and it stuck on boot so i couldn't use it ... if anyone can give it a shot maybe it's what we want

I've been using www.pawndojo.com for a while now, and it's been a gamechanger for me! I was looking for something simple that allows me complete freedom in creating my repertoire. I used it to help me prepare for my first OTB tournament, and it worked like a charm. They add improvements every few days, so I'm excited to see where it is heading!

wow thanks !!
another nice and usefull suggestion
Maybe this exists somewhere, but couldn't find it. I would love to gather a list of apps to try that you would recommend.
The category I'm interest the most is to help building Opening Repertoire - so move trees, some organisation of variations and so on. Basically something like Chessbase PGN for iPhone/Android (one in App Store has terrible rating though).
