Chess clock on Android (game timer & stats)

Hi, I wasn't totally happy with the chess clocks available on the play store so I recently created a chess clock app of my own:

I tried to keep it simple, yet complete.

It handles classic, hourglass and multistage modes, as well as simple delay, Bronstein and Fisher increments. The app also has a stats screen displaying players time spent on each move.

Feel free to use it if you need a chess clock. Since it's my first app, I would be grateful if you could give me some feedback or comments which would help me improve it.

Thanks!

What is improved from the chess.com Android clock? Or the other 80+ chess clocks already available?

My app has the following features which differentiate it from other chess clocks available on the play store (since the app is free and will stay that way, all this features are free) :

- both landscape and portrait orientation are available

- you can select different time for each player

- you can choose to display an additional countdown for simple and Bronstein delay

- you can choose to display a circular bar indicating stage progress (in multistage mode)

- you can customized chess clock colors in the settings menu

- if you leave/close the app, your game will be saved automatically and you can resume it once you re-open the app. If you answer a call while playing, it will also pause & save the current game.

- the stats screen give you a snapshot of moves or stages in which you spent too much time. It also indicates your average time per move and calculates your standard deviation. This is a useful indicator of your regularity for blitz and bullet games.

- last but not least, you can contact me to request new features happy.png

My question is this - are chess clock apps legal in tournaments (OTB), or do you have to stick with actual chess clocks?

For FIDE rated events, they probably are not, since phones and similar electronic devices are not allowed in the playing area. For other events, it may not be an issue.

As a tournament director, I would likely only allow it if both players were agreeable, no other standard equipment was available, the time control was short enough to not worry about the battery, and the clock supported the time control and could be modified in the case of penalties.
