Chess,com NFT token

What is up with this crypto NFT token supported by chess.com?   I can't tell if it's a scam.

I did try and buy one but it timed out during the exchange so no money lost.

Shame they couldn't put out a more professional presentation and interface.

I can't find anything related to chess com.

Do you have a source for that? 

The only thing remotely related seems to be the announcement that the world chess championship sets are getting involved with an NFT token.

That is not chess.com.

NFTs? Whether or not it's a scam is immaterial. Either way, you're flushing money down the toilet. :-)

Points for having a team that's not anonymous.  Not sure about the utility of it and is there an English-speaking campaign?  Good luck with it and hope it does well.
