Chess.Com piece assets

does anybody have assets for chess.com neo pieces or know how to get them

Since the site created the assets, sharing them with others wouldn't be allowed.

You can just download it from chess.com. The url is

for example, wb is white bishop. You can put the above url to curl to download all of them

Go to "4 player and variants" and scroll down and select the option that says "Custom", then when you right click a piece it gives you a few options. By pressing "Ctrl + S" or clicking the option "Save as..." then you can download it as a .SVG image. You can use CloudConvert to change it into a .PNG (At any size, e.g. 1024x1024), and if you need to convert a lot, then signing up for an account is free. (Not sponsored!)

can you get the 'classic' style pieces please?

I don't think you can download the pieces anymore, not since that update that changed the colours a bit. Right clicking a piece in the custom setup position no longer allows you to save it, however this could be circumvented with some kind of chrome extension. I used to have vectors, but I turned them all into PNGs. 🤦

Sure. Go to Settings > Themes and if you see a pieces in the 'Neo' style under the 'Custom' theme box, drag it into a new tab and on the right of /pieces/, change 'neo' to the style of your liking. For example, https://images.chesscomfiles.com/chess-themes/pieces/classic/70/bn.png

It is better if you can get vectors and convert them, because those have very poor quality. Unless I did something wrong of course.

There's nothing I can do.

You can find a bunch of SVGs through inspect element. One of the nameless scripts there has links to almost all custom pieces. There's just a few weird issues, like the black pieces not being there, or the Duck piece having a different outline and thickness. However, since they're SVGs, I'm sure you will be able to fix that easily in Adobe Illustrate or some other vector graphics manipulation program.

And if you just want the PNGs (for example to know the colors to reconstruct the missing SVGs), then you can use the Network tab to look for them. Go to Learn > Analysis, open up Inspect Element, switch to the Network tab (and filter by images if your browser has that option, I'm using Firefox), hard-reload the site with Ctrl+F5, and then search for the PNGs of the pieces (right click and there should be a save option, or if not, then at least an Open in New Tab option and you can then save it from there). Lastly, to get them in the highest resolution possible, replace the "200" in the URL with "300". Presumably, the higher the number, the larger the image, but 300 is the largest one that seems to be working.

If you want to get the Chess.com assets. It is very Simple. First go to puzzle mode. Then go to inspect element(Control+Shift+i). Then go to "Sources". Then you could see assets. You see the Chess png and Sound effects. Here is an example of assets website:

Change "wp.png" to "wn.png" for knight, "wb.png" to bishop, "wk.png" to knight, "wq.png" for Queen. For black, change to "bb.png" for bishop, "bn.png" for knight, "bk.png" for King, "bq.png" for queen, "br.png" for rook. For sound effects go to Sources.
