A grid of 64 numbers and letters would not make it easy to find the square you're looking for.

Actually, chess.com should make it a board theme. Then when someone posts a game or a position with that theme, all of us people who actually know how to play chess can laugh at the player for not being able to locate e4

You said it would be cluttered and distracting, you didn't say it wouldn't solve his problem. I think my post was more to the point, saying it wouldn't solve his problem... I also gave a visual aid to show why.
But it's easier to understand what you wrote, because it's easier to imagine a cluttered board.
I'm not mad at moonwarrior, it's just a little annoying.
