Chess drinks :)

tryst

Tonight we find very little in the way of exotic drinks, or even normal drinks for that matter. But I must play chess tonight, so I have come up with Vodka and milk, with a dash of sugar. It seems like it will work. The things we have to do to play chess and drink...

qixel, if you can get absinthe that would be a wonderful nostalgic drink for chess! I can't get it here

I just bought my first bottle of absinthe at BevMo (a sort of giant liquor store), but I just looked on the Internet and I see that BevMo is just a West Coast thing.

Apparently, absinthe is available in Michigan, however, because I did find this on the Internet:

Being english its has to be tea

I am also a big fan of the coffee and whiskey mix.  A friend of mine also got me started on something called a Ray Charles Cocktail, which sounds pretty abhorrent -- a shot of gin in a cup of coffee with a little bit of sugar -- but really does the trick on those long nights writing or playing chess.

Interesting drink there, rednblackSmile

Sad news world wide and 25 games moving very slowly. A mild winter evening and the chess.com forums always interesting. This edition of "Chess drinks" brings us to Germany and a bottle of Reisling. Quite nice. Sweet and delicious. A bottle of Reisling is worth 3 or 4 hours of chess and relaxationSmile

It's local, you haven't heard of it. Smile

Coffee is best during a long game. For blitz I think it's not bad to drink a little alcohol, just not beer that makes you slow.
