chess in prison - where I am going

You're not crazy. I remember someone made a thread like this.

Read post #3 which provides a link to the thread.
edit: there's a different thread besides the one mentioned that I think was the same as this one.
note to troll: too soon to recycle thread ideas. Give it a couple more years before everyone forgets.
"I might ask the prison warden if I can have a chess set in my cell, along with a few chess books, and possibly an Internet connection."
Don't forget to ask for a chess coach.
Just an update. I was sentenced to 15 years in prison early this morning. I just arrived at my new home around noon.
In regards to the chess, I managed to convince the warden about letting me have a chess set, some books, and an internet connection. To my amazement, he agreed and accomodated my requests :).
Now the next step is to play some games with the other inmates here. Wish me luck!

I was just convicted and sentenced, and you are worried about duplicate posts? If someone else was in the same situation as me, not my problem.

The OP has tried this stupid thread before http://www.chess.com/forum/search?keyword=chess+in+prison
What were you accused of doing? I know you didn't do it, but I'm just curious.
He was accused of being a terrible chess troll. The evidence was damning.

He was known as the "checkmate bandit". He'd leave a chess piece at every bank he robbed. FBI patzers couldn't put the clues together.
Well folks, I have recently been convicted of a crime. Tomorrow is my sentencing. It will be a minimum of 10 years in prison.
To be honest, I am a bit nervous. Not so much about dropping the soup, but whether or not I will get to play chess!
Does anyone know anything about chess in prison? Will I be playing chess? I might ask the prison warden if I can have a chess set in m cell, along with a few chess books, and possibly an Internet connection. I will let you know how it goes. Anyone here have experiences with chess in prison?
Well, wish me luck as I face the judge tomorrow.
