Chess movie(s)!

I just saw a movie called "Pawn sacrifice" starring Tobey Maguire (Spiderman) and it is about Bobby Fischer! Recommendable.

Anyone else here with a chess film that you think is worth watching?

Awesome movie for chess fans. Ended up buying one of those ChessMate travel sets after it was featured in movie.

I would recommend watching Endgame (2011). It's a TV series not a movie but worth a watch...maybe only the only TV drama about chess? Shame it was cancelled after only 1 season.

"A former World Chess Champion, traumatized by the murder of his fiancée, develops agoraphobia and has become a prisoner in his luxury hotel. To pay his bill, he starts solving mysteries with his chess skills."   

How could anyone not want to watch with such a plot huhuhu

I just ordered it (Endgame) from Amazon! Couldn't find on stream -at least not in English...=)

Just a little tidbit:

In the James Bond film "From Russia With Love", one of the scenes from the opening of the show is a chess match between Kronsteen (a Russian agent) and McAdams (a Westerner). The game shown on the board is actually Spassky vs Bronstein, from the USSR Championship.

BUT: The Director of the film had two of White's Pawns removed from d4 and c5 before filming the scene... presumably because those two Pawns weren't particularly photogenic (???) or couldn't act (???).

In any case, it made the whole combination unsound.

You should do a search for "movies" in the forum. There are several people who started a similar topic. But since i'm here, reacting to your post, i might as well share with you one of the best chess movies i have ever seen. It is called The Dark Horse. It is based on a true story. I mentioned it in the other movie topics as well, because i cannot recommend it enough. Check the trailer i included.
