Since I am an avid twitterer I have had oppurtunities to interact with many people over the last couple of years on that platform. Absolutely I would say the average twitterer is no match in intelligence compared to the average chess.com user. I say this because of the Forums I read daily & the commentaries from participating Forum readers. The average twitterer is truly a sad case. A very dim , pity inspiring, dull, bigoted, boring & ignorant S.O.B. is what you are most likely to find on twitter. Whereas on chess.com you will find people who feel passionately about this most complex of games & as a result have more interesting things to say, not just about chess but in general. This I conclude from about 3 years of observation, about the amount of time I've been dealing with computers on any level. I'm 55 years old & never messed with computers at all for over half a century. Let me say the average twitterer if representative of the population as a whole is an incredibly stupid individual. One can tell by the things they choose to tweet & favorite. Absolute garbage on an intellectual level is what you will find on twitter. The things most twitterers appreciate are things I avoid like the plague: porno, anything Kardashian, & white women's fascination with the negro phallus. On chess.com I have met some outstanding luminaries including members of the Illuminati who have threatened my life for political trolling & who proved to me beyond all doubt that Satan is in charge of this earth not G-d. So "whatchagonnado babaloo?". No question in my mind that chess players are smarter than the average bear. What's your opinion Goliath?
