It is 1:27 AM right now.
Chess players: how late do you stay up?
About 3:00 or 3:30. I am retired and put chess before many other things. I need to get shifted to a daytime schedule -- they say chess can be studied in the daytime too!

Daytime, huh? I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

...well, this one has a life...chess for me is just recreation...in my spare time, I look at chess...the rest of my time is taken up by reading, site-seeing, photography, international travel, developing my business, physical sporting activities, charity work...and of course the most important...my significant other and family.
I find fulfillment in most things none-chess related...the least of my time is spent on chess...the world is too beautiful to be absorbed by this one game.
I probably don't fit the ideal chess player profile...but then again I was never a follower.
With all that being said...maybe 1-2 hours a day max. on chess...and there is no fixed time...I just slot it in when I can.

Looks like I have nothing to brag about. I call it quits around midnight.
... except a sensible bed time.
I'm pretty sure this topic is pointed toward everyone. How late do you guys stay up?
I once heard that chess players stay up later than other sports players (something along those lines) because they are always going through new variations into the wee hours of the morning.
I know I personally stay up till maybe 2 am on average, sometimes 3 am (central). But then again it is now summer time and I'm able to sleep in till... well, 2 pm, sometimes 3 pm. So that's nice. I'd say about half the time I'm up doing something chess-related.
