I float around 900 skill level, but sometimes I'll play someone 750 or 800 and get completely demoloshed. It's almost like someone else is playing for them, what gives?

Players at that level are likely to be erratic. So, honestly, are you if you're at that level; a good day for them and an off game for you and that will happen. I'll bet sometimes it happens the other way around, too.

I wouldn't assume computers or illegal assistance. Smile

Thanks mate! I know the majorty of players here are nice!

+- 200 from your true rating is pretty normal. On ICC 5-min pool my rating ranges from 1700-2400, all depending on your form at that time.

Yup. Concentrate on the good people. This one just hit two answers of mine in as many minutes, which seemed past "Oh, he's having a bad day, ignore him." But now, I'll ignore him and see if I can win (or lose) some games, which is what it's really about!

ok. it's the same as billiards, some days I can't miss, other days I can't hit a shot lol, thanks guys!

I float around 1750-1800 in blitz, but I lose regularly to 1600s and occasionally to those around 1400. The only explanation is that sometimes my play is rubbish. Other times, my opponent's play is worse.

Below 2200, chess is a game of luck for the most part.
