I'm not sure if this will help, but Dr. Ortwin Paetzold who runs Lechenicher Schachserver might be able to help you. You might try to send him a message here. He is an expert. http://lss.chess-server.net

Hey everyone! I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I thought here would be as good a place as any, sorry if it seems out of place.
On to the question: i'm looking for a FICS style (chessd) server that I can implement on my LAN, that would allow clients like xboard and the like to connect and play chess. I have been unable to find any helpful information anywhere for going about this. I found a few chessd servers that were very old (mid 90's), one of them being an older version of FICS itself, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any better/more actively developed ones, or can give me any pointers in the right direction? Thanks!
I'm honestly tempted to start coding my own, but it would be nice to not have to...
