Chess Tattoo Idea's: Help!

Sort:
Ownagebus

So, I have save a couple thousand for Chess Tattoo's.  But I need some idea's.

I currently have a White and Black knight on the top of my feet. White On Right.

I plan to get all the other chess pieces. I want to stay with the idea of White on the right side of my body. And I want to stay with the idea of where the particular piece is placed means something about the body.

Knights signify movement, as to why I got them on the top of my feet.

I want to do Rooks on my shoulders, and make them a half sleeve.

Bishops on my ribs.

Not sure where to put the other ones.

Any idea's are welcome.

A pair of kings on your chest over your heart -- mortality.

Queens on back.  Back has large muscles -- power.

Pawn on tops of fingers or wrist -- utility.

And to round it all out, a checkerboard on your butt -- just for fun Tongue out

If I do a King/Queen it will probably be a Black King/Queen on my left shoulderblade, and a white king/queen on my right one. I am staying away from chest tattoo's due to personal reasons.

I cannot do pawns on my fingers or hands due to business related issues. I can however do them on my wrists.

I am not placing a chess board anywhere on my body. Unless its part of the scene for the rooks on my shoulders.

But thanks for the idea's!

Bump: Anyone else?

'White on Right' LOL!  Laughing

I don't know much about tattoos, so I'll leave the advice to others.  Smile  But I've got to admit: if I was every inclined to get a tat, a chess tattoo would be so cool. Cool

I like the idea of pawns on the ribs more than bishops.  Pawn structure is often referred to as the "pawn skeleton", and the structure the pawns create often dictates the dynamic capabilities of the other pieces, as well as the "wall" that shields the other pieces from attack.  Similarly, the ribs form an important foundation of the trunk of your body, which gives stability to the rest of you.  Additionally, they protect your vital organs, similar to the wall the pawns form.  Another neat place that is related to this idea would be along your spine, either vertically or white and black coming out along your ribs on either side of your spine.  Still forming the base structure that supports everything else, and these could be several small tattoos, easily hid for professional times, and also allow you to have more than one pawn, which seems fitting to me.  I think it's especially harmonious if you put the king on your shoulderblades, as the king will then be sheltered standing near these pawns.

I would put bishops the underside of my forearms.  Bishops represent linear strength, straight and true like an extended arm.  In addition, in the Indian precursor to chess, chaturanga, the bishop was an archer.  This strengthens the relationship to the arms.

My suggestion is not to tattoo. Someone very close to me acquired hepatitis C from a tattoo. I've seen women over 50 whose whole bodies are covered in tattoos, and believe me no matter how much you take care of your skin, by the time it's 50 years old those tattoos no longer look so decorative. And when you decide to have them removed, the dermatologist will almost literally charge you an arm, a leg, and the skin off your back.

I think the last consideration you should have in life is how good looking you will be when you are 50.

Do you suggest that I don't have sex as well?  Would you suggest that I use protection?

It's not like I am going to a back ally to get tattoo's done.  They don't use the same needles or anything like that.  I think your Hep-C comment is retarded. No offence.

As far as growing old, yeah... Everyone does. You might not think you're going to look good when you get old if you arent old already, but I think i'll look fine.  I'm fit, I always will be.   And honestly, when I am "Old" I probably won't care.

I think you fail to understand that these tattoo's are not for other people. I don't want them to decorate my body. I want them because Chess means alot to me. More than you or anyone else will probably ever know. Chess is where I go to relax and think in order to help my own life. It is a passion of mine. They are mine. I made the choice, I want them on my body. I don't care if anyone see's them or not. I could live my life and not show anyone. I would still be happy.

If I wanted your opinion about if I should or shouldn't get a tattoo... I would have asked. Being that I have already decided that I am going to get more, I don't think your comments were needed at all.

If you have comments about with you might think would look "Cool" or where on my body depending on the piece, then feel free to give me some advice, as that is what I asked for.

If you don't have anything nice to say, just don't reply.

K Thanks.

here's my advice:  don't get a chess tattoo.  lame.

those feet tattoos are really embarrassing for you.  get that shit removed as soon as you can and at any cost.

Flamma_Aquila

I think you should get a king tattooed on your um... little chess player. Man up.

(this is a horrible idea, but it would be funny.)

Again, I don't need and didnt ask for opinions on if I should, or shouldn't get Chess tattoo's.

I asked for opinions and idea's to help me decide how and where to put the others.

Why would you even reply to then after you read my last long rant?  Or did you?

.....

Go get a Check Mate...

Why do you think they are stupid?

What are your tattoo's? Are they "Unique"?

Do you know of anyone else with a Chess Tattoo?

I think mine are pretty freakin rad!  That is all that matters.

I started my chess tattoo last year, not got round to having it finished yet!

Thats pretty cool!   I for sure want to see that when it is done.

I plan on a sleeve for the rooks on my shoulders.  Not exactly sure how I'm going to do it.

So why did you choose flames over the board?  Does it have a specific meaning for you?

ilikeflags
you're right. your opinion is all that matters BUT you did ask. asking for my opinion was as lame as chess tattoos. plus I might be taking the piss.
