Chess terminology for "next move" and "future moves"

Hello! I am a researcher working on a study to apply machine learning methods to chess, however, I am not a chess expert by any means and I am having difficulty trying to figure out the proper chess terminology for certain scenarios.

I'd like to ask the community, what is the proper chess terms are for: (1)  "the next move a player can make without taking into account future moves" and (2) "all future moves following the current move".

If you could provide some type of source, such as a handbook or chess literature that defines these terms, I would greatly appreciate that. Thank you in advance! Please do let me know if chess terms for these scenarios don't exist and one must use plain English to describe them.

It's too conditional. There is something called a "forced move", that could be next. In order for something to address the "rest" of the game it would have to be determined as a mate or draw.

I would use positional evaluations to gauge a position. If there aren't too many deviations from the position, you could use probability to label the next move but that is as close as you will get.
