I have never tried it before but, just for you, after beating it once on level 8, I lost to it 25 straight times (quitting after one move) in order to figure out how to get it to play e4. It played c4 a few times and Nc3 but mostly d4. There don't seem to be any options and there's nothing about cheat codes for the program that I could find.
Perhaps it is time to graduate to a real chess program.

It's a $50 download but one of the things I like about HIARCS chess is that you have a choice of about 100 different openings that you can choose to play against the computer. You can also dumb it down however you wish or play a few games against it to establish a rating and have it adjust itself to your strength. Good stuff when you're trying to learn a new opening. The engine is reputed to be one of the more human like opponents. I'm sure there are other good programs as well.
I enjoy playing Chess Titans on my PC but when the computer plays white, it never begins with a king pawn opening. Does anyone know of a way to persuade it to begin with a k4 opening?
