It's a good training book. The author also tells you how to use this kind of book for maximum learning benefit.

The author also changed my outlook on life:

You can learn at most 1% of everything you want to know, at the expense of not learning some things you did not want to know at the time. Then if you work that hard to learn everything, you can remember at most 20% of it by the time you die.

His approach is to keep notes of the important stuff you will use the most often, and master that. Well, that is what he said about chess. I extended it to life, and am selling off many text books I know I don't need and probably will never read, such as my organic chemistry book.
