Chess...a metaphor for life

I think Boris Spassky once said that, "chess is a metphor for life".

I have found that to be true. My chess games are plagued by rash impatient moves. And that reflects my behavior in life. I have always been impatient and easily frustrated and my chess game refelects that. I have come here to start over and to introduce discipline into my chess and hopefully by extension into my life.

I have also settled on a opening repertoire which I hope will aid me in my disciplined approach to this game. As I am more of a positional player, I have decided to use openings that will fit in with my mindset.

I'm new here and hope to enjoy the "chess" experience.

Actually I couldn't agree with you more. I'm sure it is my karma. I've studies astrology on and off for years. Everything in a horoscope is karmic.  I have a Mars/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio buried deep in my 4th house. Can you spell "impatience"?

Judging by your response I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. I meant no offense. So at this point I think we should just leave everything where it is.
