Is the site chessable free? It's not clear to me. Secondly is it worth visiting?

I have learned from Ben Finegold's and John  Bartholomew's Youtube channels
they kinda made me buy diamond membership on  chess.com and I wont regret it at all,

I think chessable could be worth if it's comes to that because it's John company.

Magnus Carlsen and Chess24 recently invested in it, so that might make it worth visiting. Personally, i think it's an interesting chess studying platform. I have an account and bought several books.

It is good for reading books thoroughly in e-format, because you can train the lines. Some titles are only available in e-format on Chessable, also. For instance, they started putting Yusupov’s Quality Chess training books there. But most high level players and coaches will tell you to avoid memorization drilling... Daily rote memorization drilling is essentially Chessable’s platform.

There is a option, so people don't have to, to do Spaced repetition. Which means you repeat what you learned 4 hours, 1 day, 3 days later ans etc. So you can't work too fast if you want to repeat. otherwise you will wake up to 300 reviews. I didn't use the repetition stuff, and 40 % into the 100 endgames you must know book I tried to repeat and failed so much. After I started to review I had 240 moves/positions to review one morning, I failed on move 219, the rest was so easily memorised and understood.

Try to read the book once and see if you can do the same. You probanly can't. So I find it excellent to train this way.

Also tactics or opening can repeated and will be hammered into your head since you repeat.
