I would like the chess computer to respond a little more slowly to my moves. A few seconds grace would be appreciated.

You can change the time it thinks per move, just click "Settings".

Just be warned that this likely also turns up the skill level.  You're not being timed, so why is the computer's quick response an issue?  Take your time and slow down your game -- the computer won't judge you.

I dont understand why i can beat hard level more often than medium... not like I win more often than not but I rarely ever beat medium and have decent chances on hard with certain openings

Clearly he feels stupid when the computer does it in less than one second and he STILL gets crushed. I feel the same way.
