Chesscom's new Game review, what the heck happened?

I said it in other topics, but I will not renew my diamond membership if it stays like this. I will not even play on this site anymore. For me personal, I loved the game review, it was a step for me to buy diamond. I also have a Lichess account which I rarely use but.... sorry, I know I am over dramatic but this just sucks!!

Just one more click to get to the analysis tab, I guess. I wonder if there is some secret government mandate out there that tells games they have to add new, unwanted, uncalled-for "features" once they get too popular? Safeguard against monopoly?

Also, has anyone noticed that while watching games on mobile, the animations just got a whole lot worse? It looks like they copied it from how they broadcast boards in speed chess tournaments. It's so laggy that premoves and 0.3 second hover-moves look identical. Forget trying to make sense of what's going on during a time scramble, when 3 second lag intervals are followed by 9 moves animated in a 0.1 second burst.

Hey guys I just discovered a workaround when you go to the review screen hit the upper right bottom this takes you to self analysis screen which has most (if not all) of the functions on the original board. Yes chess.com has margined to create to screens where there used to be one. But this is the best I can find.

Another vote for the old interface. I used to be able to "show moves" for multiple alternatives, but now it's limited to just one. That plus the ridiculous visuals with little text and shining white

there are two things I'd really like explained:

- why did it have to change in the first place?

- why don't the developers listen to the feedback from *paying* *customers*?

I think the new Game Review is fine. I don't get why people are complaining so much. Game Review is silly to begin with, so why do so many people take it so seriously. The Coach's tips are never going to help you get better at chess, except maybe for beginners. All you need is the engine, and that's still there and easy to use. I am amused that so many people complain that the new layout for Game Review slows them down when doing their review. What? Reviewing a game of chess, if you want to learn, shouldn't be a speed exercise. You should WANT to do it slowly. Bottom line, it's all fine.

bring the old review style. Otherwise Chessdotcom will receive so much hate.

If you think Game Review is silly, Why are you even talking?

I valued the Game Review summary of my games, until the Developers decided to butcher the Game Review. People have the right to complain about a function they are paying for.

The game is losing money because people are asking for refunds due to what they have done to the Game Review. It is big deal for a lot of people.

If you think it is fine for company to sell you one thing and give you another, Than I don’t know what to tell you. The only thing which could be said is it looks like your in the minority.

I'm not a hater, but please, please, please bring back the old game review. I find the new one worse in every respect. My renewal date for premium is coming up, and I'm going to hold off unless this changes.

yep, mine not til January, but i would not plan to renew with this review - clunky and childish update - and a total dismissal of widespread concerns they heard for months

I really cannot understand what this new look was supposed to improve compared to the previous version. It doesn't even fit in the screen, with the balloon covering the % bar. I just stopped using game review in favour of self analysis. I don't believe there is a world where this feature passed an A/B test. Please just change it.

Went to find a forum just for this post - never used one here before.

The new review is absolutely awful, and is actively driving me away from the site to other platforms. On mobile it's just damn near unworkable. I'm actually glad to find I'm not alone in feeling like this. Thought I was crazy for being so offput by a site change.

Another crap thing about new game review, is when you let computer do automatically play though of analysis, in the past it used to stop on every mistake and blunder, now it only stops at blunders and just skips over your mistakes, not very handy anymore as a learning tool. I will unsubscribe my membership if this isnt solved. it was the main reason in past for subscribing to chess com anyway, to have a quick overview of the mistakes i made.

That was also my main reason. I will also not renew. Don't forget to complain to chess.com; it is the only change they are perhaps to do something about it. I will also not renew my membership.
