Chessimo

I am a 44 year man that has dabbled with playing chess numerous times.  Unfortunately, I am still at a very low level as I have never invested sufficient study time (or maybe I am just too dense).  I am thinking about consistently dedicating myself over an extended period of time, but am not sure where to start.  I have found the app chessimo. It is obviously a huge program that will require a great deal of time to finish.  However, I wonder if my time will be best spent using it.  Right now, the problems are relatively easy, and I do not understand how it will improve my "chess vision."   If anybody has used chessimo or something similar I would love to hear your thoughts on the long term benefits.

Thanks.

I use the program a lot myself, I personally find it one of the best tactical pattern trainers. Yes some of the tactics are simple , but if you cant quickly see them ,how can you advance to more complex tactics? You can go over the same group of problems until you master them.

I like the Chessimo app, although I've only completed the first 26 units. I spend more time with other training apps. See http://chessskill.blogspot.com/2013/02/chess-tactics-training-on-ipad.html

The purpose is that over time the simple tactics will help you with repetition to the point where you see them instantly . This is the idea , and has been reccomended before by some trainers .

Equiv is correct, and Chessimo is well designed for this purpose.
