Choosing best next move

Following is a position I faced in a game, in 17th move I had two moves in my mind; but I decided one move as the best move. However I could not justify which one to choose even though I choosed. So I thought of asking for ideas from all of you about the position. Since I have already made the move, these comments will not cause any changes to the running game.

Two options; gxf6 (to regain the lost piece, but it will remove the King protection pawn structure) OR Qxh3 (then gxf6, then call check by Qg4). Not sure whether there were far better moves than this.

Qxh3 would probably just mean going down a pawn after bxe5, Qxh4, Bxd4.  the big mistake you should be wondering about was 10. h3?? 10...Bxh3??  you should have taken the knight with your bishop, he retakes with queen, you the take knight with your pawn for free!  You really let Opponent of the hook.

Oh yes, that's a blunder isn't it? Thanks for pointing me that.

So do you think the move I made in 17th is the correct move to choose? Or was there another better move?

What happened after move 17? Who lost? What was the outcome?

I won this game in 26th move as my opponent resigned, however there I sacrifised my Queen and find a way to win where my opponent was not looking at

.

i think white should have won this game. is it possible to have a computer analysis?

Also I would definitely have captured 4...bxc6 (instead of 4...dxc6), when you have a strong and mobile pawn centre. Your option is certainly playable, though.

gxh6 is much stronger, as it opens the g file for attack, after Qxh3 all that white has to do is remove the bishop from f6, with a move like Bxe5, and he has some chances, although slim.

I'm not clear what u meant by strong and mobile pawn centre as I haven't moved d & e pawns yet. Are you saying moving a d or e pawn into f is not a good move? Yes I got it, thank you for pointing. That will be useful in many of my next games.

I mean first that you have a pawn centre, and second that it is capable of moving. The doubled pawns in this case are quite likely to be an advantage, since one of the pawns on the c-file can be taken, or can take another pawn and you will still have three or four connected central pawns (if you include the f-pawn).
