Clock slow down and speed up

Is it me or have I noticed that chess.com slows down the clock for a player with a high score and slows down the clock for the players with lower scores when they face each other?

so it slows down for both sides-- that seems fair.

I would expect them to try to be as accurate as possible. I would expect clock irregularities to be caused by either high load on their systems or network issues. I recently was staying at a place with a very bad internet connection, and it made strange things happen with the clock.

No, it only slows down or speeds up. Just one of those but I'm not sure which.

You said it slows down for both.

It seems that way to me but it doesn't slow down for both at the same time. It slows down for the better player with a higher score and it may speed up the clock for the weaker player with the lower score.

Maybe I explained it wrong before but the above is what I see.

I now had to my turn has been turned back and i lost with 5 seconds on my clock. Chess.com hassome clock issues.

It's not clock issues. I think they know what they are doing with the clock. They determine what rating they want to keep you on and they adjust the clock if they want you to lose that game. They slow it down and speed it up based on what they want to do. Your playing chess but your rating is not up to you, It's up to chess.com

This may be helpful to understand what is probably taking place. Scroll down past the chess game.
