Congratz to everyone who made it to Champion League

I'll plan on starting again in a couple weeks probably. 

Agreed really impressive.

Is anybody keeping an eye on the absolute battle going on for the top spot? Like 10 people over 12k trophies and the top guy at 16k with ~36hrs left to go. That's an average of 120 trophies an hour.

My original guess was that 20k would be needed to win, but seeing how they're already on pace for 20.5k and I'd imagine the last 24 hours or so they just play straight through, it will probably be more. I bet we see 3 reach 20k

I've looked at it a few times, 1st and 2nd seem to be playing for like 20ish hours every day with only 4 hours rest. It's crazy how they've got the time to do it but also how they haven't completely burnt out.

I've tuned into Terry Renato's stream sometimes after he's played for over 12 hours and sometimes he's yawning and looking exhausted.

I think Terry Renato has been playing for about 24 hours now, or close to it. There's nearly a 1000 point game between him and bengaltiger now 

Imagine playing 20 hours a day and getting second place, only to realize you have to try and get Legend league again the following week. You would be so worn out of chess. 

Top 3 have over 20 thousand points now. I don't think anyone is going to catch Terry now, his lead is around 900 points and he is still playing. Amazing stuff.

I'm guessing after today, when the main part of the contest ends, getting top in a Champion division is going to be easier and need a lot less trophies. 

Only 2 people will be in Legend league today right? That leaves 48 spots left for future weeks for prizes right?

No, the cash prizes are for the first fifty finishers of the first Champion's League divisions.  There are one year diamond membership prizes for the first 200 to make it into the Champion League.

There are three full divisions playing this week, with the first competing for the main prize fund and the other two competing for the secondary prize pools. In addition, there are  200 year long diamond memberships. 

Eventually the Legend league will have events and prizes, but no details have been released on what those may look like. It will be a while before there are a sufficient number of players in that league to hold anything. This week there'll be three, as long as there are no ties, and there will be between 10 and 13 Champion divisions next week. It will likely be at least a month before there are 50 players, and it could be longer before there are any events.

The original prizes should be given to those in Legend league. Seems counter intuitive to do it for any league other than the highest. 

Made it to champion league today. This one was a bit tougher to get. Only one league left...
