It's too slow downvote. Plus you didn't mention you can place captured pieces like in Bughouse.
Cool Version of Chess

Oh yeah I was gonna mention that but I removed it for some reason. You can place pieces like Crazyhouse

I have tried Xiangxi and it never really appealed to me. I like moving pieces within squares instead of intersections that's also why I don't really care for go

I would like to learn and play. Is there a site like chess, com where one could acquire skills and play?

Shogi.com is just like lichess but for shogi and it can help you learn. If the piece colors and styles are confusing you are able to change the way they look in the settings
I found a cool variation of chess called Shogi. Shogi is a Japanese variation of chess but unlike normal variants on chess.com it has its own rule set and multiple differences between them. I have been playing it for around a week and it is super fun. There is 81 squares instead of the regular 64 on a chess board but there are a couple of pieces based off chess pieces such as the Knight, Bishop, King, Pawn, and Rook all of them having unique twists. Promotion is also vastly different and I am still getting the hang of it. The way you win is the same as chess, Checkmate the king. If you guys are interested Lichess has there own website for shogi that they host called Lishogi.org and it looks exactly like Lichess.
