Countering the Scandinavian/Center counter defense

I agree. Black played passively and just let things happen not the best thing to do when attacked viciously

Forget that, tell me how you went to the future first.

My first reaction: Derail this thread and make it all about time-travel.
My final reaction: A nice game and you found some good shots (Nb5 had all kinds of cuteness about it!) Your opponent should have played this way better than he should with an opening (one of my favorites) like this. Then again, it is blitz and maybe he's just "trying it out" for a test-drive.

i think that's probably correct. b4 was a risky move though i wouldn't go as far as saying it is a mistake
I used to play against this a lot, and for a while I used it as well.
A nice setup, black castled into a strong attack and gave away his own attack pretty early. The rook fleeing after capture gave white the tempo to clean house.
IMHO black should NOT take the pawn with the queen. The queen becomes a liability as you avoid minor pieces and pawns.
I would not have taken b4 as black. The open file vs your king and with 2 bishops and a queen already pointed there?? Qe5 maybe, looking at Be4 if allowed after that.

lol, i love when the guys rated 1500 argue with the the guy rated 2300+.
pfren is really rude. littleman syndrome?

somebody should re-post everything valuable that pfren happens to post minus the weak trolling, that way everyone else can block him.

I vote for IM @Pfren as Chess.com's winner of the Richard Gere look-a-like contest.
More power to him.

One could also re-post everything valuable you have posted. All he would need is a blank sheet of paper, and no pencil.
okay...that's funny.

Your opponent was not familiar with the scandi, he should have played with c6 and e6 and gotten a rock solid structure
