Many people are forced to stay at home due of lockdowns, then, a lot of people also started playing chess online, and/or agains computers, further developing the quality of the game.
Man U lost to LIVERpool on 25/10/21 5-0 it is a history. I think covid affects their training so that's why. But anyway no idea how this is related to chess LMAO.

Yes, I think so too but some of my friends who OPed me before Covid-19 is OPed by me. Some are the other way round
