Curse Words

Is there a way to allow foul language?  I Never use it towards my opponent, it's more likely to describe my own play after a bad game.. Seems silly we're all adults and  I can't say I played like sh*t...

The worse part is it deletes my whole comment instead of just the curse word...

That's hardly true. I know a number of young kids who play on this site.

There are some really strong kids out there too.

I'm sorry to say that I drop quite a few swear words myself -- and like you, it's usually towards myself, "aw.... expletive..... look at what I did!  I blundered!".  I was in a live game wtih someone and they dropped an f bomb at me which I saw -- it was someone stronger, he blundered and then encouraged me to find it and take advantage of it.  "There's a pretty f--ing good way out of it!" he had said.  (I went on to lose anyway although I did find a good move).   I'm not offended by it in that respect and it did show up during the live game.  That said, in a public place, yes, it eliminates the entire sentence.  I suppose that is because we do need to remember that there are young ones out here.   While I do swear, I'm certainly not proud of it -- it's not becoming of a lady.  If I want to say something now, I usually type astericks or write "expletive".  ;)   I look at it this way --  it's helping me to watch my mouth.

I swear a lot -- but there are places where it just isn't appropriate and I try to remember that.  Yes, we live in the 21st century - that doesn't make it acceptable.  Yes there are worse things - but why add to it?  At any rate, I'm not trying to argue -- and I have no room to talk since I definitely drop more than my share of naughty words.  But I'm trying to improve that.  It really isn't becoming to a lady.

yeah i know a 12 year old who plays. strong language is not appropriate for him!

I was just banned for saying "f***". You can't tell me Chess.com can't code something like if <18 then "allow bad words".  Sheesh. My advice, grow up Chess.com and stop limiting the natural vocabulary.

JustADude80

Huh?

NoKingYou, the f word is NOT the natural vocabulary for many people.

I am not an adult. I don't think 9 yrs old is an adult.
