E4 isn't that bad because it does take the center however black actually has 1000s of traps that checkmate and every trap that comes with e4 is terrible the kings gambit is actually bad plus if they play the Sicilian the bowdler the smith morra and the alapin are TERRIBLE BLUNDERS ya you have a lot of fun little tricks with tho bowdler but if up against someone who plays the Sicilian there whole life there's actually a strategy to CRUSH it in the Smith more the best move isnt take back with queen because then its equal its actually nf3 advantage 0.17 for white and not 0.00 and black actually goes E5 after because if you take the pawn with the knight not exaggeration a blunder because queen forks and takes the knight keeping the pawn winning the knight so white is just down material after and if you play the alapin your just assuming that black doesn't know what the alapin is when every sicilian player has faced it and probably know how to crush the trap because after the alapin you actually already have -0.02 a ?????? a disadvantage for white ya because you block the knights develoment and black e5 after to keep a big enough advantage in the center to win so E4 must be terrible but how In the world would C4 be bad like nobody has figured out a way to counter it bruh.

1. d4
1. c4
1. Nf3
1. g3
These give white a slight advantage.
A lot of other moves, such as 1. b3 or 1. e3, only give equality or even a tiny advantage to black.
And one move, 1. g4, is really bad and gives black a substantial advantage.

just check for yourself if you look at d4 go to analysis play d4 then go game review It will say that d4 is 0.33 advantage for white then if you do the same thing except with e4 it will say e4 is 0.25 advantage for white and if you do the same thing again with c4 game review says 0.00 up too 0.24 its weird internet thing on c4 I don't actually know what the real advantage is I do know that most most of the opening that are commonly played after to lead to drawed positions. although I slightly based it of the exaggerated meme where like e4 is crazy c4 is also crazy just not as crazy and d4 absloluley sucks Im not saying this the 3800 stockfish is by the way there's even more gambits that WIN against e4 the gambits with d4 aren't even gambits and there's less plus they don't mate you if black plays gambits its brobably gonna be a won rook and c4 most gambits it has with the most gambitted opening on Ive ever seen is that's plus if they just copy the position then there completely fine ya its unstable but does nothing except hopefully win the center and the traps for it is mate and even 1 has a queen trap

if you go to explore to you'll see d4 has a really high win rate of 39% e4 has a slighltly smaller win rate of 38% and blacks comparison in win rate is actually higher for black to win then d4 and c4 is worse then both because yes it has 39% win rate however theres a more Likley black win rate if you play the English and the only 39% win rate actually comes from anglo Scandinavian queens gambit instead of english otherwise the win Rates are equal Im just saying people with elo above 2500 have games that prove d4 is better then e4 and c4 so I don't like that e4 is always played cuz apparenlty d4 IS better

I just played 3 games 2 black one white both time when I was black they played e4 and I won with the Sicilian with 2 most popular variations and I had a game with white after d4 I crushed my opponent because you can play the caro kann against e4 which is a great opening but if they play d4 first there's a little trick if they play the caro kann that destroys the opponents entirley that only a advanced ir higher player knows how not to lose and maybe win if lucky

there is a line in the Sicilian that actually makes it so that if you keep developing taking the center you fall straight into a trap that wins a knight so white is forced not to develop there's another line with e4 after e5 then knight attacks pawn there are very aggressive openings with the allot of lines that are very aggressive with black if instead of knight defends d pawn defends E4 is also actually the most popular opening so there are about 27 checkmate traps most irresistable and aggressive is the fishing pole trap if you go with the Sicilian there is actually no way to take the center without blunder free peices especially the Smith morra because after takes the best move isn't to take back instead its to develop nf3 if you take back black actually has a really win rate because the advantage for white went from 0.25 to 0.00 and with the Sicilian books ussually ya are very good middlegame players and after you don't take back and play nf3 they defend the pawn with e5 because if you say you can take the pawn with the knight the queen forks you and ya plus there are more aggressive lines too here Ill show you the main things after E4 except the fishing pole search it up on youtube yourself

When my opponent starts with E4, I can bait them into some stuff. I at least have the possibility. If they start with C4 or D4, I have an open shot to do what I want. Until they start moving the knights around. That is what messes my strategy up.
