Daily chess - who has the most games going?

So I've recently discovered the beauty of this daily chess after getting frustrated over bullet games. I play them every now and then, but I mostly play daily now. I love it.

However, I thought I was a boss by having 70 games going on at once, but now I've seen a person with 250 games going on at once, and I've read that some people have 300-500 going on at once.

How do you get that many games going? After a few clicks I get the "there was an error processing your request" which I assume is normal. But when I was at 70 games going on at once, it wouldn't let me start a new game, even days after I had tried to start a new one.

I want like 1000 games in 14 days going on...there's just something about not being able to catch up that I like...it motivates me.

Some people have had over 1000. IIRC some over 2000... which is insane lol. It averages out to something like 5 hours a day IF you only spend a few seconds on each game.

Understandably some have started that many, and then quit half way though.

As far as I know the site doesn't prevent you from starting new games. Update browser, don't use IE, clear cache and all that I guess would be the first tips for fixing that error message you're getting.

When I try to make a seek using the app when it's my turn to move in more than 10-15 games, it says "make moves before creating more challenges". But when it's not my turn in any of the games it allows me to start 6 challenges.

Wow, time really does fly. I'm surprised I posted this almost 2 years ago.

I just realized this was replied to a couple months ago.

It's funny in my original post I wanted "like 1000 games".  I found a simple way a few months ago to add rapidly to your daily games: you just join daily tournaments.

So now I've found myself with 274 games going on and I am completely overwhelmed. Before I found about these tournaments my timeouts were a solid and consistent 0%. Now they are 3.33%. There's a guy I'm playing in several games (probably 30) named panamacitychess, and initially he had 1700+ games going on with a 1900+ rating, and a very high win to loss ratio. I thought surely he was cheating, but I've since realized his rating has dropped to about 700. Not that this player is a bad player at all, but after being overwhelmed with 274 games I can see how 1700+ games are nearly impossible to maintain thus explaining the harsh rating drop due to timeouts.

So at this point I no longer desire any more daily games. I have wasted (well I can't call it wasted) 2 years of chess playing to basically giant simuls. I'm going to let these games dwindle down to nothing and start playing 30 to 45 minute rapid games again. I do work a full time job and I thought initially this would be the perfect way to be motivated to play many games of chess with 14 days to move. Now that I can't keep up, I've lost motivation to play and many of my games with 2 weeks to move have reached minutes to hours to move. And though it puts me on vacation automatically, this doesn't feel satisfying at all. I would like to keep up. But it's easier said than done. Also, I feel like these daily games have increased my rate of blunders.

I see sleeper61, impressive to keep up with 1200 plus games.

Atom680, do you have a link? 4,000 seems absolutely impossible.

Yeah, I overthought this post.

If you play more than 200 Daily games you are playing bullet. I play only one to three games at the same time.

I've played a couple guys who have 250+ games going and they were both close to 2000 ratings either during or before our games. They were generally slow in replying, often less than 24 hrs left of 3 days, and I don't think they were spending much time on their moves.  With that many games, I doubt if they remembered anything except maybe brief notes about each game as it went along, using the daily games like Tactics or Strategy or Endgame Trainers.

Still, they provide stiff challenges to lower rated me: had one draw and one loss vs each of them in Team Matches.

yes. In order to spend more time on my moves, I need to reduce my game load too. I am playing lots of games right now because I enjoy daily tournaments and keep finding ones that I would like to join!

Wow...

SeniorPatzer

I had a daily game against Panama City Chess.  It was crazy how many games he had going on.  I won but it was because he didn't have time to think.  Which defeats the purpose of daily chess.

You are crazy! But good luck!

Anything more than 6 daily games at once feels overwhelming to me. 3 is the sweet spot, but I can't help myself so I usually play 5 at once.
Jakker4

I feel fine with around 15 games at once.

My range is between 20-80.  20 not being enough, while anything above 60 and it starts becoming a grind.

People, don’t you have a life?!?!?
thegreatauk

I have about 40 and I am trying to get less.

I hear mass resigning is a good way to lower your game count...
