Deleting my account

I want my account to be deleted alltogether. How can I do that? I want to never play again here.

TheGrobe

Here is the link, but before you close your account I'm curious why you would want to.  This is an outstanding site and there are lots of reasons to stay -- I really can't think of any reasons to want to leave.

why do you want to remove your account completely?  why not just choose not to log in?

because I just been beaten by a guy with 0.06 seconds on his clock. Situation was him with 0.06 seconds, me 16 seconds -> 10 moves later him still 0.06 seconds me lost on time. Each time it was his move he lagged and made me lose 2/3 seconds on my clock while never losing any time. I want to delete my account because I want to play in a server where people beat me because they are better not because they know how to use the flows (numerous here) of the chess engine. Thanks for the link I'll be sure to process with deleting my account and never come back.

That's a shame, before you go you might want to check these links out so that you can get a better understanding what's going on with the clocks (Lag) and also best utilize your time in live chess (Pre-moves):

Lag:

Pre-Moves:

Also, the Live Chess server here is undergoing a re-write and is being beta tested right now -- this should hopefully take care of a lot of these issues:

I'd urge you to stick around -- this site has a lot to offer.

my god, i lose all the time due to little skill and lag the combo is most annoying, but yes pre-move is a great idea/option

or just ditch live.  it's pretty widely known around here that live sucks on chess.com and that any day now it will be fixed.  hahaha!  if you believe that...  even if they do "fix" it.  who gives a ****?  2 minutes games?  5 minutes games?  waste of time.

but seriously?  you're quitting because some dude milked the system better than you?  i say quit if it hurt that bad.  anyone who gets their feelings hurt over how BAD live chess is on chess.com should definitely quit.

I don't think you should close your account for that reason. It's probably just lag which will be fixed in live chess 2.

They have the disclaimer at the top "use at your own risk."  However, I myself love live chess & am ok with its flaws.  I think blitz chess is a VERY good way to hone your skills, and when you don't have anyone else to play with in person, it's a good option.

 Very true and well said.

You know, live chess is still in the beta stages. If I were you, I would do what people generally do during a beta release- report the problem to the developer! Not only is it practical, but it is also common courtesy. I personally am not a fan of live chess in its current form, I tried it one time and could not stand all of the gossip and alcohol talk in the chat channel(I am not kidding about this!), but there are so many other benefits to this community than live chess which is why I am here. (IMHO) It seems very narrow sighted to me to react this way over one game(or even a series of games)- on a beta release client/server application which currently constitues such a small subset of benefits associated with this site.

I understand your frustration man, but speed chess will always be a battle with things such as lag. It is a time game as well as a chess game, and I believe that people have a hard time with that. I personally don't really like speed chess because of that very fact. I can lose to a less skilled chess player due to their being higher skilled at clock usage. If time losses upset you so much as to abandon a chess site forever, I think you would get much more enjoyment if you saved speed chess for OTB and instead used internet for slower games.

I think you are not making the best choice for the growth of serious chess. my experiences with this site have been very encouraging. I played many OTB tournaments during the 1970's. It was very intense and enjoyable. But, with a growing family I had to spend quality time where it counts. Now, I'm retired and this suites my chess interests generating challenges to solve stimulating problems. Be patient and look for depth in thinking.

I've been around for awhile and have certainly seen live play improve a lot. I expect it will keep improving.

However I agree with the lag, it can be very annoying. But for now I don't play any Blitz or Bullets on live. Even though "long" games are harder to come by, they make the most sense.

But do what you gotta do, drama queen.

dont quit unless live chess is the only thing u use on chess.com.I use other sites for live chess like world chess live or ICC. however they are not free

ASWC

Yes Live chess is the only thing I was using. I used to be a chess player playing tournaments and such and winning some but no time for that anymore. So I just play once in a while online. Anyway, I tried hard to stick around like some of you said but I lost too many games because of lagging or disconnection and as a chess player I don't want to have to deal with these things, I just wanna play chess and win or lose because the guy I play is weaker or stronger. On other servers this has never happened, I'm always pretty much with the same ratings anywhere, 1900 quick, 2000 blitz, 2100 long. Here it's the same but with 300 point less, half of my lost long game are disconnection. 10 or more percent of my blitz lost are people lagging. That's the only server that when I see a guy with less than a second left on his clock and me 20 second or more I start to worry about losing on time! This happened at least 30 times and I'm tired of it. So yes I give up this server, the chess engine is no good and allow weaker players to win by other means than chess. Is it so bizare that the only thing I want to deal with is chess and not lag or disconnection? Well if it is then I guess I'm right to go.

There's no need to close your account outright though -- have a little bit of patience, stick around and see if Live Chess 2 works better for you when it comes out shortly.  In the mean time there are a lot of other features here that you can make use of even if the current incarnation of Live Chess isn't up to your standards.
