Delta Airlines Chess Game Crushes on Easy!

Unfortunately, Air India doesn't have any games on their in flight entertainment system, it's actually one of the worst quality systems out there. I had to watch "foreign" movies because they had subtitles and the audio didn't work. But other airlines DO have in-flight games. I especially loved playing Bejeweled and whatnot on Singapore Airlines when I was little.

I played the Delta chess app yesterday and noticed it is now significantly easier than previously. This was on a 737-900. The app looked a bit different visually than the old one. I can usually play the chess.com 1400/1500 bots relatively evenly winning some and losing some. On the old app, I was about 0/20 lifetime against any difficulty setting. Yesterday on the new app, I easily defeated the easy setting with white. Then I easily defeated the medium setting with white. Then I easily defeated the difficult setting with white. Then I won 3 games in a row with black on the difficult setting without much effort.

I feel like the easy setting on the old app was 2000+ rated. Now, I think the difficult setting is no more than 1100 or 1200.

That sounds like they broke it. I just don't understand how a company that is manufacturing a chess game, can't get the settings right.

I played against the bot to kill some time and it womped me. The flight is 11 hours, but I couldn't stand playing it for 11 hours straight. Had to break it up with movies and sleep.

I'm leaving again soon and I'm gonna give it another whack. If it beats me, I'm gonna train while I'm away and hopefully come back with a vengeance.

There must be different versions of the Delta airlines chess game. I fly Delta very frequently and have played many times always at the difficult level. I don't believe I have lost once. I also fly American often where the game is much more challenging, probably win about 50% of the time. I consider myself an intermediate player.

I realize this is an old thread but I need to vent. That Delta easy bot is a troll. I played 6 games in a row getting wrecked in every single game. The bot never made one blunder and maintained an aggressive tempo throughout each game. I am a decent player and can beat an 1800 bot on chess.com about 50% of the time and 1600 bot about 80% of the time so this bot felt easily like a solid 1850 or above. On easy that's a laugh. Just wanted to throw this out there in case this troll bot crushed anyone elses ego as well. Your not alone. Return flight in 3 days. This time Ill be ready.
