I frequent the downtown denver area, but I don't play anyone that wears clothes during games. Clothing hinders performance.
Denver Chess Players?!

I don't play and study chess as much as I used to because I have no one cool to play with.
Aaaaaaand, the people who never stopped studying because they didn't care either way are the socially awkward and mentally unstable

Chess is a sport for individuals so of course your going to find all the weird(awesome) people. If you want to find some normal people your going to have a hard time.
Try to find the coffee shop chess clubs or library clubs.

I love the mental strategy and tactics of chess. But I ,however, want to make friends and have a group of people who have similar interest and push me to get better. Otb play is nice to mix up with a year or so of only online play. And it would be cool to sit down and have a drink with someone "wearing clothes" as zembrianator says.
Is there anyone in the downtown area that want to play during the week? I don't know about anyone else but I have only been playing chess for a year and a half and every chess player I have met in the area is socially awkward or mentally unstable. There has to be other people around that play chess and are normal. I don't play and study chess as much as I used to because I have no one cool to play with. Anyone out there?
