u can play both the comp and members
Determining my Rating

Just a little tidbit of information if you ever decide to play in-person tournaments: the USCF determines an unrated players first provisional rating by multiplying their age by 50 up to the age of 26. Anyone 26 or older is given a provisional rating of 1300.
I know it's not got anything to do with your rating on the site, and the Canadian chess governing body may use a slightly different number, but in general, for a young person, a good starting point would be to consider your rating to start at 50 times your age.

Just joined... Curious about options for getting my rating 'started'... Can this be done by playing against the computer? Or is it only against other members?
