DGT smartboard
Basically you install the rabbit plugin software from www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/support1/dgt-software/dgt-e-board-chess-8x8?mavikthumbnails_display_ratio=2
It will be the download from one of the top two folders depending on your board.
Here’s a faq on how to setup a position

Hi Billydamsmith,
This link on what programs support the DGT boards may be helpful: https://goo.gl/9uPFfv
LiveChess Software can be used when broadcasting games or downloading the saved pgn games from the board, as the board records your moves when powered.
RabbitPluggin and RabbitQueen will help with playing online and downloading pgn games from the board.
The board will come with Fritz/Chessbase software. When using Fritz you will go to the section for the Board, and enable the dgt board. You can 'announce moves ' under Files>>OPtions>>Announce moves. This way the computer will announce the moves and you don't have to look at the screen.
I would install the RabbitPluggin and Rabbit Queen as this will help it interface with the other online software listed in the link above I provided.
To play online , I've had success with Internet Chess Club (ICC), CHESSBASE online play of course, I use BabasChess - The Free Internet Chess Client for FICS play.
Right now the board doesn't work well with lIchess, or Chess.com easily, if at all.
I have a subscription to ICC and it works well with that and also BabasChess for FICS free play.
For use with the DGT Pi, http://docs.picochess.org/en/latest/usage.html website is really great for using that device with the board, and changing settings on it using the Extra Queens and special positions on the board.
The board is really that flexible. I've found that you figure out how you want to use it, and then search for documentation, experience with using it that way.
Hope this helps!

P.S. Here is the DGT E-Board setup software, which will also come on the cd with the board:
http://www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/support1/dgt-software/dgt-e-board-chess-8x8/dgt-e-board-setup-cd
This is the drivers installer as well:
http://www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/support1/dgt-software/dgt-e-board-chess-8x8/dgt-e-board-driver-installer-1-0-for-smart-board-and-e-boards
This stuff will be on the cd which will be with the board when it arrives.
Once you run the board setup and drivers setup, download the RabbitPluggin and RabbitQueen
software so you can download pgns from the board you and your friends may play and to be able to use other online supported software.
THE BEST YouTube review of this board: https://youtu.be/em-pGSNyqWY

I bought the DGT smartboard to be able to record games played on it. So I can later download them to my pc with Rabbit Queen.
I had a lot of problems and the support from DGT was not helping.
To power the DGT smartboard I connect a USB powerbank to the board. But because the board takes only very little power the powerbank turns itself of. I attach a extra usb led light to the powerbank to avoid this problem.
Does someone knows a better solution? Maybe some USB powerbank that doesn't turns itself of when only very little power is used.
You also have to connect the DGT clock to the board with the little jack cable. Otherwise you get a lot of notation errors when downloading the games with Rabbit Queen.
I have emailed DGT support many time but I have to find out about this myself.
I have a DGT smart-board on order, and I am having trouble in finding documentation on how to use it, on the internet, the downloaded manual is vague, and the information on the software is scarce, something about livechess and RabbitPlugin and RabbitQueen.???
I found something on ending the game by placing the Kings in the middle of the board, but it didn't mention what to do if there are pieces already there.
Would somebody please give me a few tips on how to get started.
Thank You:
