do Chinese people play chess?

After Russia and USA, China is the strongest chess nation.
Here in USA, there are barely any players who are actually from US. Almost all of them are from India or China.
Dude, make the title more clear, I almost reported you for being racist.
Do you even know what racism is? I can't see how someone would perceive the title as racist.

It says do Chinese people play chess. It seems a little racist to ask that is all.

Exactly... OP asks a different question in his actual question than his title.

It’s common sense, to be honest. At least one person from every country plays Chess, you would think.

Chinese players are, on average, inherently no better or worse than any other nationality. In recent decades the Chinese government has launched a massive program to introduce chess to its population (there was not a lot of chess in China 75 years ago, they had their own popular games) and nurture chess talent to earn worldwide prestige.
The "Chinese" and "Indian" chess players in the United States are in actuality Americans of East Asian or South Asian descent, just as many "American" chess players are of European descent.

I haven't been to a chess club in the US, but you're telling me that few people at such places are from the US? People that play chess in parks (if TV shows are to be believed), few of them are from the US?
