Do FIDE rated games count on your USCF rating?

If someone played a FIDE rated game, in the US or somewhere else, would it impact their USCF rating? Also, would a USCF game impact their FIDE rating? And would a game rated from another country that was not FIDE rated (i.e. a game in Canada rated with the CFC system) impact either of your USCF or FIDE ratings? Thanks for the help!

I don't think so. Whatever tournament you attend will clearly state the rating system it uses, and there are none to my knowledge that impact more than one.

1) Many US tournaments are rated in both USCF and FIDE systems. For example, the Marshall Chess Club in NYC has "Marshall FIDE Mondays," which are "FIDE rated. FIDE ratings used for pairings and prizes. Players w/o FIDE rating: USCF rating used for prizes."

See also http://archive.uschess.org/beginners/uscffaq.php under "How do I get a FIDE rating?"

2) FIDE-rated games you play outside the US can affect your US rating. See "Having Non-USCF FIDE Events Applied to USCF Rating" at http://www.uschess.org/content/view/8417/319/. One group whose US ratings are affected by foreign FIDE-rated play are "USCF members with a published FIDE rating and listed as USA in FIDE records who played in any FIDE rated events for a FIDE Ratings List that were not already USCF rated."

As an addendum to my previous answer, regarding #2), I found a more-recent statement:

"Are games of our USCF members played in other countries USCF rated?

"In 2011, the USCF Executive Board passed a rule that FIDE-rated games played by USCF members in other countries will be USCF-rated for all players whose FIDE rating is at least 2200. One of our volunteers, IA Randy Hough, reviews the crosstables of FIDE-rated events and submits the data to the USCF Ratings Officer. Players rated below 2200 FIDE may elect to have those games rated; however, once the election is made, all the FIDE-rated games, from there on, will also be USCF-rated. Obviously, a player may not “pick and choose” which tournaments will be rated. This election, for players U2200 FIDE, may be made by emailing Walter Brown, USCF Ratings Officer, wbrown@uschess.org . "
