and yes its summer right now for me so no school but still
do i really need to be spending 5 hours a day on chess in order to improve
I spend like 15 minutes here and there tbh but I'm the same level as you so...
its so hard to increase rating when u only play G30

me who's undefeated in lichess classical hehe
i mean carlsen studies for 8 hours i think and fischer longer
well yea hes world champion so ofc he does but thats his job so he should be putting the time into it
just 1 hour is enough lol
i think thats a bit of a low-ball, i know ppl who only spend one hour a day and so they are stuck at a rating of 900. i guess ur a bit of an exception
u should make a forum how to spot tactics in games, if you learn that ur uscf would be better
its not rly about my rating, its more about how i can study more efficiently and if people really need to spend so long to improve (on one of my other forums ppl said u gotta put 8 hours a day into chess which is insanity)
plus, i feel like if i don't spend at least 4 hours playing chess im not doing enough for the day

"Work smart and hard, but value the 'smart' more."
Don't go playing chess like playing bullet or do puzzle battles. That's not smart. What I mean in 'smart' is you should play classical games or solve hard puzzles or sit at a corner reading books, that's the way to improve

i play classical games, solve many hard puzzles (my puzzle rating is proof), but i don't read chess books very much

You can try spending an hour solving compositions... 2 hour playing rapid/blitz games... another hour reading a chapter of a good book... And I think it's enough.

Dont play G30 much.
Go play 3- 10 mins pace.
You need thousands of games experience to play toe to toe against 2000+.

Yeah, but those puzzles aren't really as hard as 'compositions'.

alright then, i will start reading my pawn structures book
i mean come on thats a ton of time and i have a lot of others things to do too. don't get me wrong, i like chess and am serious about it (i want to improve) but 5 hours just seems too long.
