do you say eats, takes or captures when a peice is captured?


In the circles I frequent and at most standard tournaments they say "chom choms". Just kidding I usually say take, capture, cap, grab, snag depending on how I'm feeling. I also tend to say "got em!" a lot.

I think you English speakers goble up pawns. Maybe I spell it wrong, but it always makes me smile.



slay, capture, take, but never eats. I do occassionally suggest to my opponent that a queen attack without positioning other pieces disrupts my queen's breakfast and if they continue such an unlikely advance, the knights will surely restore peace in the kingdom by escorting the miscreant majesty to the royal dungeon.
