ngl, I don't think I could see anyone going to the Olympics to watch chess
Do you think that chess should be an Olympic sport?

100%! there are sports that have less followers than chess...
That is irrelevant the second most popular sport in the world Cricket is not even going to be an event this year. The worlds eighth most popular sport baseball will also not be contested this year.

Olympiscs is a physical tournament, so no. There could be a comparible tournament for intelligence based sports, maybe also include some e-sports.

Olympic sports are very active sport meaning you might as well sweat after. Also no one will be able to see what they are playing since the players and chess pieces might be covering it. (:

You have a point, but they could use DGT boards and I think there are screens in the Olympics to make it easier for everyone to view

(For those saying that it isn't a sport at all)
Hey, chess community! I think I might get into blogging, so I'd like to start my first blog on this topic, and--with the Olympics coming up--I'd like to know everyone's opinions on whether or not chess should be an olympic sport.
Can chess even be considered a sport at all? Should it be an Olympic sport? Why or why not? And if it were, who do you think will win the gold?
Personally, I think chess would be a great addition to the Olympics because it would give the game some more popularity and get chess enthusiasts interested in watching the Olympics. But then again, watching two people in a battle of brawns isn't as exciting to EVERYONE.
So what do you guys think?
