What's with this Draw stuff? I had the computer on the ROPES..It had NOTHING but a king, & I had ALL 8 power pieces left..... I was a couple moves away from the kill, & POOF! DRAW?????

trysts

Draw is one of the three results in a chess game. It's not new stuffLaughing

bigpoison

Three?  What is there other than a loss and a draw?

trysts

My opponents usually get the other result.

IoftheHungarianTiger

Did you stalemate by accident?  That's my only theory, unless computers have learned how to cheat Smile

If the computer keeps going to the bathroom, then there is cause for suspicion.

Metastable

Was it a fast game? If you lost on time it would be a draw. Normally it would be a win for the other guy but if he doesn't have enough material to mate then it's a draw.

You mean the engine could have a Kramnik hidden in the bathroom?

Cooputers cheat all the time, in all aspects of life, not just chess.

@OP: You have no completed games. Your complaint is baseless.

bigpoison

Li'l chess partner games are not recorded in "completed games".

Your dismissal of the OP's complaint is ill-considered.

Could you guide me to what you are referring?

Is this "Li'l chess partner"? I knew about this feature, but I never knew it was called that. That name does not appear anywhere on the page.

Yes, I knew that games against this computer are not recorded.

My intent was not to accuse at all. Smile My mistake was not initially realizing which computer was involved.

@OP: IoftheHungarianTiger gave you an answer. We cannot easily help you beyond this without seeing the game itself.

I think youve been answered several times.  You either a) ran out of time and your opponent didnt have material to mate=draw.  or B) left your opponent with no moves, though he was not in check, resulting in catsgame/draw

StrategicPlay
The two answers possible have already been mentioned in posts #5 and #7. Or did you, omg, OFFER A DRAW OR SOMETHING?!
