Elometer gave me a rating way higher than my chess.com??

I took the EloMeter test this morning cause I got a tournament coming up and normal chess.com puzzles weren't really working for me, and something really weird happened. It predicted my elo to be 1734 with a 95% confidence level based on my moves. I clicked through the whole thing in less than an hour (no engine or anything), kinda skimmed through it, and It gave me a massive rating over 700 elo above my chess.com rapid. What's going on? What does this mean? And how would this translate to a USCF rating/tournament thing?
Tests like that are just estimates and there are many factors that can play into what rating you'll eventually get in OTB play. Pools here are different as well, with all kinds of variables that influence your rating.
You may be able to get some correlations across pools, but the accuracy for any individual is going to have a lot of variance.
I'm 1600 OTB and fluctuate between 1550 and 1650 (last I played OTB) and have a hard time getting anywhere close to that except in Rapid here, which I don't play much.

It really just struck me as odd, I just skimmed through it and I got such an absurd rating. It was made by a buncha Ivy League professors, too, so I really don't know what to think. If it's any indication of me being really good at tactics, though, I'll take it any day.

I've done similar ones in the past and got higher than my rating. A player's knowledge in concrete, testable positions, may be enough to score well on the test but when you get in an real game, you may not be able to apply that knowledge effectively with other considerations that happen in a game (time pressure, unfamiliar positions, etc).

This kind of "tests" that let you measure your chess talent, IQ, artistic ability, suitability for various fields of learning, and more are notoriously unreliable. The best way to find out your real strength is to go play a few otb tournaments and get a real elo rating.
