if it was checkers than it whould be bu it is chess xd
en passant should not be forced

En passant is not forced. You can completely ignore the move as long as it's not checking your king.

Someone made a YouTube short claiming it was forced. This person probably saw the short and believed it.

You see NOT GOING TO EVER CHANGE THE RULES OF CHESS, regarding en-passant, or any part of this game set in stone for hundreds of years, usually the individuals who want to change chess and its rules of play are those starting out between 500-1000 Rating, and should realise chess.com will never amend the rules of chess to suit individuals.... WHY BECAUSE EVEN IF THEY DARE TO DO SO THEY WOULD LOSE THOUSANDS OF IRS BEST CHESS PLAYING MEMBERS. so dream on and take up Checkers instead or Solitaire!!?
I don't think losing fans should be the reason for not changing the rules. It should simply be the fact it is set in stone and has been played the same way. Not to mention now we wouldn't be playing chess the same way all the greats did in the past. The tradition would be killed and the old masters would have to learn a new rule and perhaps never be able to adapt.
It would be more devastating than doing a similar thing in ,say MMA, changing the rule of kneeing the downed opponent or 12 6 elbow. In these sports, it's not that big a deal.

Like sometimes the opponent even manages to prevent M1 with this, it's so annoying
En passant is forced if it is the only legal move on the board. Otherwise it's optional.

OP means it shouldn't be mandatory as a rule... in other words, for example, that you should be able to turn it off.
