On Chess Tempo I have reached 2150 in puzzle solving and on Chess Universe app 2000 so I might be 2050 but in reality i am 1950 therefore these elos are not accurate

@chezm87 for that rating your puzzle rating is very high for your normal rating! im a 900 player and my puzzle rating is now 1446.

sirreadsalot2535

I'm 928 in rapid, but my puzzles rating is 2959. I think I just need to play more rapid games and spend less time on puzzles - I spent seven minutes on one puzzle once.

You should try over the board chess. Sometimes you can spend seven minutes or more on a position if it is required.

650 blitz (I know, I have insane skill issue), and 2100 in puzzles

I think puzzles ratings (without time bonus) could be comparable with longer format classical chess. Rapid, blitz forces one to make decision within a short time span and that's not for everyone.

3000 puzzle rating = 2000 rapid on chess.com in my experience. I achieved both around the same time.

CocoFrog_Doggo

i'm 455 in rapid, is a puzzle rating of 1450 good? (I used to be 1500, but it just dropped yesterdayfrustrated)

You think 650 in blitz is bad? I'm 200 nervous

I think puzzles suit a very different kind of thinking for several reasons. One reason is that, psychologically, we think very differently and focus on details simply because we know we're dealing with a puzzle. Another reason is that the consequences for blundering are often exactly the same as the consequences for an imperfect move when solving puzzles, but this is not the case when actually playing a game. I just reached a 2000 puzzle rating, and I've made some blunders playing puzzles that I don't think I'd ever make in a game. However, I also picked up a lot of mates in 4 that I'd probably miss in a game.

I had 1400 puzzle rating on here when I was 1200 in blitz

and now I have 2400 puzzle rating and 1500 blitz

Yeah, that's why I think a classical game would be more comparable to the puzzle rating. Blitz/ rapid often forces the player to make decision on short time.

Puzzle reflects your thinking capability only. ELO is based on results. So how you apply it in games matters plus blunders etc etc. Longer the format you play and make less mistakes, the closer you will be to the puzzle rating.

abyiis

i am aprox 1000-1100 elo in blitz and 1873 in puzzles

technical_knockout
