Export Entire Chess.com database of games (Chess.com API)

Hi,

Has anyone come across a way to download the entire chess.com database of games. I know that the API allows for downloading game archives if given a user. Is there a way to download a large batch of games played by many users?

You could potentially code something but would need to be sure to throttle how quickly you did it or your connections would end up being blocked.

@vishy849, did you end up finding a way to do this? I'd like to pull a couple of days/weeks worth of data to analyze for a project, but haven't found a way to do this short of pulling by username. 

does no one here realize how many games are played every day on chess.com? i get it if its only a certain user, but all the games played by the WHOLE OF CHESS.COM is a lot and probably too much

There isn't a way to do it. It can only be done by username.
