Fabiano "Bobby" Caruana

Sort:
Benbarney

Yes, Karjakin has won Corus. The best performance anyway is imho of Caruana, two years younger, winning on Short and having an excellent performance - he has been promoted in the A group for the next Wijk aan Zee.

Someone has fun to track many analogies between Caruana and Fischer: age (he became GM at 14; when he was 10 he won his first GM in a USCF Tourn.), places where they lived (Caruana is Italian but born in USA, it seems he lived in the same neighborhood in which Fischer lived), talent, excellence. It seems he left school completely for chess, he has private teachers. It's told he studies chess at least 50 hrs/week. His IQ is something like 184.

Hope he doesn't follow in all of Bobby's footsteps.
